Vasilika is located on the Mytilini-Polichnitos road, about 40 min drive from the Mytiline and the airport. With a long history going back to Byzantine times, it is an archetypal Greek village which is set on a hillside, with the entire Kalloni Gulf as its panoramic backdrop. The village offers a few traditional shops and bakeries with a charming square, church and a selection of cafes and ouzo mezes bars. Shops in Polichnitos (app. 5km) and Kalloni (app 22km) provide for everything else. Great swimming and seafood are served at Skala Vassilikon (the coastal extension of Vassilika) whilst Nyfida and Vatera are not much further.
